ramps and amps
the ramps and amps event at south street seaport on saturday was great! lots of breath taking, gravity-defying stunts and adorably scraped, bruised, dirt-covered, sweaty boys. fabulous.

on fire
since katie couric was pawing shirtless firemen on morning television yesterday, the new FDNY calendar must be out. some of the guys are pretty hot; some just need to cease and desist with the tweezing of the eyebrows. honestly. my question is this: raising money for charity is all very good, but does anyone worry that some desperate single woman is going to take one look at these rippling abs and deliberately set something on fire? not only are you likely to survive a tiny, contained blaze in your bathroom wastebasket, but the chances that you'll meet mr. june seem reasonable.
not that i'm planning anything. seriously.

his purpleness
last night i went to see prince @ MSG. it's hard to believe that the man is 46 years old. he was jumping around in his high heels, singing his heart out, dancing like a fiend. his voice sounded amazing and the acoustic version of little red corvette was so sexy, so sad, so beautiful, that i actually felt faint.
i hate to get all astrological, but notice how prince does not appear to age? that's a gemini thing. johnny depp's a gemini, too. does he look 41? i think not. in any case, i am going to have to go out and buy a whole bunch of prince CDs now because i'd forgotten how amazing he is. and a lot of my prince collection is (wince!) on cassette. jeez. how very retro. and not in a good way.
