thinking global/staying local

as usual, it's been an insane week. right down to the wire @ work, just a few days left and we're all done. deadlines deadlines deadlines.

catching up:

friday was the grand re-opening of kush.
the mexican was in town and a good crew was on hand - the brothers sullivan, my girl james, richard from famous friends, tim, hrh, nnadi... many gin and tonics were consumed.

saturday the weather was crappy and rainy but i hit the soon-to-be-closed pop shop and bought some buttons, postcards and such. walked around the neighborhood, ate eggs norwegian.

saturday night i went to se a friend of a friend's band play at luna lounge, met up with some other poeple at 6s and 8s, and then hit kush, where i met the moroccan and stumbled upon the crazy energetic south asian tabla beats of karsh kale and kollektiv and DJ zakhm. the music was sooo fucking good. i think i'll have to buy the CD.

by the time we left kush @ 4am we were starving, so we headed to florent for french toast and omlettes. got home at 6 am as the sky was lightening and the birds were chirping.

and now, suddenly, it's may. one month til my birthday. gotta figure out what i'm doing... i always say, "i think i'm gonna lay low..." and then end up having a crazy-ass big drunken dance extravaganza type party. we'll see.

You are such a party girl. I feel old when I read your blog, and slightly gutted that I probably am too young to be feeling old.

Look fwd to reading about a birthday bash...
