iPhone bag

iPhone

i mean it's gorgeous. it's slim, it's sexy, it's intuitive.
but.
it will take some getting used to.
voicemail is down.
the internet is down.
texting takes 5 times longer than it used to; maybe if i cut my fingernails it will get better.
it's not petite like my pebl; i can't slip it into the front pocket of my jeans.
it kind of makes me feel like i have manhands made of ham.
i can't send a picture in a text message? or if i can, i don't know how?

my new phone has issues.

hey. so as you may know i managed to drop my pebl, destroying the outside LCD. i couldn't tell who was calling, which made me anxious and severely affected my quality of life, because i totally picked up when this stalkerboy i *really* didn't want to talk to called - three times.

so i went to chinatown, where all dreams come true, in a quest to have my pebl fixed. i visited a couple of places and finally found a place where the woman said, sure, drop it off and come back in an hour.

in my phoneless hour i wandered the streets. part of me was sure it would be fixed, part of me was sure that when i returned the store would have closed up shop or turned into a dumpling house and i'd never see my phone again.

i went back and she told me they needed 20 more minutes. i went back again and was told they could not find a part, but would give me a deal on a brand new pebl. i went back and forth for a while but decided a new pebl would be great.

so i got a brand new pebl in a pretty shade of blue.

and it was great until i started pushing buttons and trying to change settings...

♥ art and commerce ♥

so a couple of cool things happened to me recently.

one was that i went to a party thrown by motorola.

i rsvp'd, and almost didn't go, and then in the end, i went.
and i was glad i did, because they gave me a new pebl.
a few months ago i kind of wanted the razr - until i actually held one.
it was so square and boxy and bigger than the LG i already had.
sort of turned me off. my pebl is soft and round and purty. we're in love.

the other cool thing was this:

i wanted to check out the phil frost show at the jack shainman gallery.

i'm a fan and i wanted to see his new stuff. i wasn't sure if the gallery was open on sundays but i trekked over there anyway - it was a nice day.

when i got to the gallery, there was a guy out front working on a canvas but the gallery was closed. i said, "it's not open today?" and he said, "no... but you can go in if you want to."

then i looked at the canvas and realized it was frost's artwork. i asked, "are you phil frost?" and he said yes! he let us into the gallery, which reeked of weed smoke and was filled with the sounds of old-school reggae. he had a portable record player plugged in and a stack of albums - great way to spend a sunday.

needless to say, the work was great. tattoo-esque urbantribalgraffiticollage.

go see it, you have until may 20th.

his work is better seen in person, when you can get close, check out the detail and the pictures pasted behind the paint, see the broken glass and try to interpret the signs and symbols...

but you see more pix here.
