then i was thinking of those men's oxfords from a few seasons ago. were they helmut lang? prada? i can't remember, but they were black leather *painted* silver, and the silver would start to crack, and then you'd see the black underneath, which was cool.
so i bought chrome spraypaint and did a little experimental project: i painted some old pink shoes silver.

they're super shiny. we'll see how the paint wears. for right now i'm happy.
